Abused OFW in Saudi Bids Goodbye on Facebook, Warns of Possible Death

It is a sad reality that while there are a lot of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are enjoying a good life outside the country, there are also those who are abused by their employers; worse, there are those who get killed or are the ones who kill their abusive employers out of desperation.

Last August 29, an OFW working in Saudi Arabia shocked her friends with a farewell announcement on Facebook, saying it was likely her last post because she would either die in the hands of her female employer or she might be the one to kill the allegedly abusive woman.

Going by the handle ‘Princess Jena Talusan’ on Facebook, OFW Normina Abdullah Suhod shared photos of her passport as well as other details of her employment, including the name of her employer and the agency she’s working for.

Suhod who hails from M’Lang, North Cotabato, Philippines is currently working at the household of a certain Mohamed Yahya Faez Alsheri in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia through Asad Marei Recruitment Agency based in Duba City.

While she did not detail what her female employer does to her, Suhod has repeatedly posted about getting abused. In her last post, she said that she might die in the hands of her employer or she might be the one to kill the abusive employer.

Sadly, Suhod hasn’t posted an update since she created the ‘farewell’ post some 5 days ago. We do hope she survives this ordeal or find a way to escape her abusive employer before something bad happens.

Some netizens have also advised her to call Raffy Tulfo instead of her agency because based on the experience of several abused OFWs, the veteran broadcaster was able to save even those gravely abused by their employers.
