Alleged Drug Courier Nabbed in Dumaguete City with Php3.8M Worth Of Shabu, Admits the Group Also Hires Minors!

In an entrapment operation led by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Negros Oriental, 22-year-old Genaro Amorin was caught with Php3.8 million of suspected shabu at Barangay Taclobo, Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, central Philippines.

The local resident had been under surveillance for some time as he is believed to be among the couriers of a drug syndicate operating from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

According to PDEA Negros Oriental, transactions between the syndicate and the couriers are achieved via phone calls and text messages.

But though he was carrying a kilogram of suspected shabu, Amorin insisted he is not a courier for the syndicate and had no idea he was delivering millions worth of shabu in that pack. He claims that he was only hired to deliver the pack to a person he does not know – and that he was only paid Php500 for the delivery.

As the cops pressed him for more information, however, Amorin admitted that the group who hired him is allegedly also using minors to deliver packages – and that’s quite alarming! While he wouldn’t admit who hired him or to whom he was delivering the package, the information that minors are being used as drug couriers is something the PDEA operatives are following up.

Isn’t it alarming that these drug syndicates are using minors to deliver their goods?
