Alleged Video of Religious Group’s Raffle Draw for Attendees of “Walk for Life” Goes Viral

Social media has been abuzz over reports of a religious group supposedly offering a raffle draw for its members who will attend the “Walk for Life” in Manila’s Luneta Park last Saturday, February 18 to oppose the death penalty and drug killings in the Philippines.

The rally was hosted and organized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and was attended not just by nuns, priests, and their followers but also of prominent figures, notably Senator Leila de Lima.

But talks about the raffle draw did not die down after the rally, especially because of the estimated 20,000 supposed attendees, only a small fraction of that estimate actually attended. Many netizens couldn’t help but comment that the alleged raffle draw was not enough to make the church’s faithful churchgoers follow their leader’s request.

Of course, there were also many who were skeptical that such a raffle draw exists.

To ‘prove’ the allegations, VOVph shared a compilation of some videos relevant to the alleged raffle draw. The last part of the clip supposedly shows the moment of the raffle draw where 70 people won Php5,000 each. A netizen also claimed the promo and the raffle draw were broadcast on radio.
