New York Times? Well, they have been churning out articles critical against the Duterte administration since Day 1.
If you check the author of the article it says Felipe Villamor. I suspect he is a Filipino since his profile in NYT does not show his face, meaning he is one of us.
Anyway, we already the connection between the Fil-Am philantropist based in New York and the New York Times, right?
A sister of the Fil-Am millionaire and one of the bigwigs of that paper are friends.
Moving forward, former DILG Secretary Rafael Alunan III took to Facebook and castigate the NY Times for publishing a malicious and slanted article on de Lima’s arrest to further the political cause of Duterte’s enemies.
Here’s the full text below.
The NYT says “Duterte critic” De Lima was arrested and detained. Malicious headline. She was arrested and detailed because the prosecutors and judge agreed that there was substantial proof of her involvement in narco-politics that merited her arrest and booking on specific charges. Tough luck.
So, now, if it isn’t “extra-judicial killings” for all drug-related deaths that PRRD is allegedly solely responsible for instead of segmenting it for proper attribution, their narrative shifts to “political prisoner” when the likes of De Lima are arrested instead of saying that the administration is applying due process. Stinks.
Twisting the truth to suit hidden agendas. Won’t work. Not any more on the majority. They’ve been fed more than enough dishonesty to last a lifetime and they’ve had it. And if the other side thinks they have a good opening to oust PRRD, they better think very hard and pray.
Let us check out how social media react.
Heidz Kho Punzalan wrote: Considering that they are NYT, they have no idea what’s happening in our country, so why are they writing about us and our country.”
Jim Dongiapon asked: “Can we slap this photo on their faces?” Mugshot of de Lima embedded.
Rico Guido Badilla commented: “This newspaper sucks, they have no idea how grave the drug problem was the moment PRRD takes over.”
Jubert Bell joined the chorus of netizens hitting NYT: “Their so-hopeless-desperate moves to get back to power backed by their equally desperate media trash partners.”
Your reactions, please!
