Cool Video Shows Interesting Solution to the Trash Problem and the High Costs of House Construction

Everyone knows that there is a problem with handling trash in many parts of the Philippines, especially because a lot of people don’t really care about the environment and the place they live in as they throw trash anywhere and everywhere they feel like doing it!

Sadly, trash make their way to the drainage canals, leading to clogs that easily cause floods during rainy days. Moreover, plastics and various non-biodegradable items eventually make their way to the waterways and the sea, wreaking havoc in the water ecosystem and leading to countless deaths of marine creatures.

Thankfully, a number of humans have now found a solution to this man-made problem – and one way is to use plastic as an additive in creating eco-friendly bricks. What’s quite exciting about this solution is that not only does it partially help solve the problem of trash, it also helps combat the high costs of house construction, another reality in the country!

So, how is it done?

A company called Green Antz Builders shreds plastics and turns them into bricks which are, then, used to build infrastructures much like other types of bricks; however, the bricks are said to be stronger than ordinary ones.

The company has already built several homes and public structures with this brick!

The feature report on this innovative project also included another way of recycling plastics and using them in construction. Watch the full report here:
