Did the Inquirer just blame Duterte for the death of UST law student because he was against EJK?

After the change of ownership, many predicted that the Philippine Daily Inquirer will tone down its anti-Duterte stance to placate Duterte.

But, this screenshot photo shared by social media blogger Sass Rogando Sasot, showing PDI blaming Duterte for the death of the UST Law student proves otherwise.

Sasot wrote the caption below chiding PDI.

Nakakaloka! Push lang!

Netizen Ryan Jay Cua remarked: “Wow.

I was sort of kidding when I said that the anti-PH will blame hazing on Duterte – but holy fuck ha.

Ibang level.

#NarcoMedia”

Headline: ‘ilaw,nanlaban…
panibagong biktima ng EJK!’”

Jon Gue aptly described the newspaper’s action: “Inquirer will do everything to make our government looks bad. Hayy..

Jay Jordan lamented the state of the country’s news media industry. “All i can say now is….kwawa namn ang bayan nating Pilipinas! dahil sa mga corrupt na media na to, mraming kbabayan natin ang nalalason ang utak at madaling maniwala sa mga kanilang binabalita, lalo na sa mga sarado na ang isip na wala na tlaga nkikitang mgandang nangyayari sa kasalukuyang administrasyon ngayon. May God bless our country🙏

Pingping Deliverio summed up the sentiments of the netizens in social media. “this is simply a below par angling, because it will imply that his denouncing of the EJKs might be the reason why he was killed.”
