When Maconaquah High School senior, Jacob Feazel, was assigned an art project, he wanted to do a great job. In fact, it was his goal to win the award for best art project of the year. To achieve this, Jacob knew he needed to do something truly special.
After a ton of brainstorming, he came up with a brilliant idea. Jacob decided to make an American flag that’s entirely made up of toy soldiers. The idea is not only beautiful but it serves as a thank you to all the men and women who fight for our country.
Jacob’s mother, Stacey, photographed each step of the project. Here is what planning phase looked like.
Here are all the toy soldiers. It was time to start painting them red, white, and blue.
After 56 hours of work, the project was finally starting to come together.
Here is a close up. When mom shared these pictures on Facebook, they quickly went viral across the United States.
4,466 Toy soldiers were used to make the flag. It took 11 days to complete the entire project.
Mind blowing isn’t it?! We think Jacob is a shoo-in for best art project of the year. He’s already won the hearts of people from all across the United States!
If you enjoyed Jacob’s work, share it with your friends and family.
