Journalist questions de Lima’s special treatment: Are we saying that there is really a law for the rich, another law for the poor?

If you notice, Lady Justice wears a blindfold. The blindfold represents impartiality, the ideal that justice should be applied without regard to wealth, power or other status.

But in the Philippines, this is not the case.

The nature by which Senator Leila de Lima’s was arrested perfectly illustrates the inequality in our justice system.

Journalist Ira Panganiban took to Facebook to pick up the cudgels for the oppressed by lending his voice to those who cannot speak out their sentiment on the issue.

This is a syet da pwet scenario today.

When an arrest warrant is issued and laws are bent to accommodate the subject of the convenience of the subject of the warrant.

At ang nakakainis dito, her allies are shouting this very line, that she be given dignity because she is a senator?

Bakit? Wala bang dignity ang ordinary citizen? Are we now saying that there is really a law for the rich and another law for the poor?

Senator Kiko Pangilinan and Senator Franklin Drilon are you saying that because you are senators you do not have to subscribe to the procedure of the law?

The law says once a warrant is issued all law enforcement agencies are urged to serve it irregardless of their stature and immediately putting the subject in restraints and handcuff to prevent escape.

Your thoughts, please!
