A notorious robber in Metro Manila has been neutralized in a shootout with Valenzuela police on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, GMA News Saksi reporter Tricia Zafrathe said the suspect identified as Ernesto Lozada Cenas Jr allegedly died after it shot it out with police.
A police operation was conducted in Barangay 160, Caloocan on Friday afternoon after the police was informed of the suspect’s whereabouts.
The police intensified the manhunt for the suspect after it robbed a salon on Thrusday night in Caloocan, taking the mobile phones and other valuables of the employees and customers.
The suspect has been positively identified by its victims.
On January 25, 2017, the suspect armed with a handgun also robbed an eatery frequented by students in Valenzuela City, confiscating their mobile phones.
Five days later, the suspect also robbed the customers of another eatery.
According to the police, Cenas has been tagged in several robbery incidents in the past and the police are also looking for his accomplices.
“This is a strong message para doon sa kaniyang mga kasamahan na hindi talaga namin sila titigilan,” said P/Supt. Freddie Colico, deputy chief, Valenzuela Police.
