Suffering a humiliation in Bohol following the death of a sub-commander and a few of its men, the Abu Sayyaf are planning to retaliate in Mindanao.
Former CNN TV host and The Manila Times columnist Malou Tiquia warns the public, particularly a few key cities in Mindanao for a possible Abu Sayyaf retaliatory attacks to avenge the deaths of their kind during the failed Bohol kidnapping raid.
On Facebook, the respected journalist wrote:
Please stay clear of crowded areas and always be on a lookout for persons who are acting strange or out of the ordinary. Pls immediately report to your police. Also, report bags or packages unattended. Areas in 1) Cotabato City; 2) Davao City; 3) Tacurong City; 4) General Santos City; 5) Kidapawan City; and, 6) Koronadal City are said to be prime areas of AS retaliation for Inabanga, Bohol.
Let us help our local police and protect each other. Communities can be strategic partners in maintaining peace and order. Residents of Inabanga did their role. Let us also do ours. Thank you.
If you’d recall, Abu Rami, a young Abu Sayyaf sub-commander involved in several kidnapping raids including the Samal Island incident met his end in Inabanga, Bohol during a fire fight after their presence was reported to the local authorities.
As far as a I can remember, the Abu Sayyafs have never suffered a setback in their kidnapping expeditions where their “kumpit” takes them.
A simple Google search would tell you that the Abu Sayyaf kidnapping expeditions reach is as far as Malaysia and they always go home with their victims in tow.
