‘Missing’ Marikina Teacher Returns Home, Confirms He’s “Back from the Dead”

Last week had been a frenzied, worried one for the family and friends of Paul Anthony Miranda Esguerra who went missing last February 5 after posting cryptic messages, wishing them luck in finding his dead body.

Earlier, we wrote about how his Facebook profile picture and cover photo were changed in the early hours of Valentine’s day; however, the mysterious images continued to bring questions to the minds of netizens whether it was him who made the changes or not. After all, people had also wondered if it really was him who wrote the supposed ‘death announcement’ posted on his account last February 5.

Esguerra’s family has also kept mum about the incident, with no official statement released to the media. We understand that the family now wants privacy but netizens feel they also ‘deserve’ to know that he was found or has come home since the family had posted their appeal for help in finding him on social media.

It turned out that Esguerra had already gone back home last Sunday, a week after he went missing – but netizens missed his ‘big announcement’ as it might have been deleted some minutes/hours later. Some netizens shared a screenshot of the post wherein Esguerra confirmed that he had gone home and jokingly referred that he was ‘back from the dead’.

In his post last Monday, he mentioned that he was now looking for a new job as he must have been terminated “as per HR policies” when he went missing without proper notice. He did share that he was going to a gig the following night, Tuesday, at Saturdate Grill.

One of his cousins also posted on Tuesday a photo confirming that Esguerra was alive and has finally come home.

Thank you for all the prayers , love and support..

It’s a good thing he didn’t proceed with his plan to end his life – and it seems that he’s going to be an advocate for suicide awareness.
