While President Duterte remains unperturbed by the incessant attacks of his enemies, the same cannot be said of his supporters.
Sass Rogando Sasot, one of the most prominent of the Duterte’s social media bloggers, took to Facebook urging President Duterte to do something “to preserve and protect the dignity of that sovereign will that’s being bitchslapped relentlessly by external institutions and foreigners we didn’t elect to govern us.”
Take note, Sasot addressed President Duterte as Mayor Duterte in the open letter. Why? That we don’t know but speculate her reasons.
In the meantime, the post has gathered 1,272 shares, 5,400 reactions and 396 comments on Facebook.
In the open letter, Sasot told President Duterte to refrain from telling his supporters that he does not care if he is kicked out from Malacañang because this is no longer about him, but the sovereign will of the people who put him into power.

Before you say again that you don’t care if you get ousted, and ramble again about destiny, or that you don’t care about your reputation, with all due respect, mayor, please fuck off.
You don’t care? Well, guess what, mayor. We fucking care. You know why? It’s not because of you, with a little y.
It’s not about you. It’s about the sovereign will of Filipinos who chose you for you to lead this nation into a new beginning by any means necessary.
We care what happens to you not because of you as a person but because you are the duly elected leader of this nation built by the dignity of the struggle, vision, and action of our great ancestors and of our fellowmen toiling day and night anywhere in the world.
We care how this nation is perceived by the world not because we want to keep up with appearances but because we know that your government isn’t really conveying forcefully, passionately, clearly, and persuasively to the world the progress that’s happening in our country because of your leadership and the hard work of your cabinet.
We care because we love you not because of who you are but because of what you do: a great service to our generation and the generation that would come after us.
So don’t just tell us that you don’t care. Please do something to preserve and protect the dignity of that sovereign will that’s being bitchslapped relentlessly by external institutions and foreigners we didn’t elect to govern us.
With raised fist,
