The police motto is “to serve and to protect” but it appears that with Duterte at the helm, it morphed into something like “to serve, to protect & deliver”.
A case in point is the viral post of Facebook user Kristine Faith Ceniza Jov of Davao who had an unexpected delivery from the Davao police.
Apparently alarmed by the presence of police at her doorstep but upon checking, turned out the police took the initiative to deliver the food she ordered from Jollibee.
The police told her that the delivery boy met an accident on the way to her home.
Worried that the owner of the food is already famished, they took it upon themselves to deliver the food.
Moments later, the Jov received a text message from Jollibee informing her of the accident and that there might be some delay.
The crew assured Jov that they will find a way to have her food delivered.
Jov texted back that the police had already delivered it and she also paid for her order.
Jov’s share amused netizens and heap praises on Davao City police.
Josiah Felix Quising added, “Akalain mo. Meron palang nagagawang matino ang pulis.”
“Because even the police know that chicken is life,” Facebook user Danica Hill said.
Some are worried for the delivery boy, to which Jov reolied: “I did check on the delivery personnel. He was ok. Nakabangga siya ng bata sa street. I just didn’t mention it since I want this post to focus on the policemen’s kind gesture.”
