Leni Robredo took the page from his deceased husband when she ran for an elected post by using “tsinelas leadership” slogan as her own.
“Tsinelas leadership” is derived from the Filipino word for flip-flops, refers to the rural grassroots and poverty alleviation program started by the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, the husband of Vice President Leni Robredo, as Mayor of Naga City. [Wikipedia]
In light of the recent foreign junkets of Leni Robredo, socmed blogger and Duterte supporter Krizette Laureta Chu has come up with a new meaning of the “tsinelas leadership” that propelled her candidacy to the fore of national consciousness.
On Facebook, Ms Chu wrote:
“Ahhh, that’s what she meant pala by Tsinelas Leadership.
After South Africa, Korea agad agad. Both non-official lamierda. (Was South Africa official? Because Abad is still an official?)
I want Leni Robredo’s tsinelas. It’s globetrotting.
Di naman ako na inform na when she campaigned using the tsinelas symbol, it meant pala Lamierda, La-ag/la-ag.
Naloko ako, my gid.”
Ms. Chu’s post draws laughter and anger from her Facebook followers.
Nerissa Arias Donato wrote: “I want Leni’s tsinelas…masarap pang hampas sa kanya para matauhan sya at hindi puro lakwatsa at boylet ang inaasikaso,..”
Tim Almonte III remarked: “If noynoy has his yellow ribbon, lenilugawrobredo has her yellow slippers tyak yun instead of a phil flag…sarap tsinelasin ng magkabilang pisngi…litsi…”
Ming Hin said: “TSINELAS IS A SYMBOL OF LAKUATSA LAMIERDA PASARAP. NOT A SYMBOL OF WORKING HARD AND SIMPLE LIFE. THAT IS LENI ROBREDO FOOLING FILIPINO PEOPLE THAT SHE WAS A SIMPLE WOMAN AT WITH THE POOR.”
Jojo S. Guzman commented: “Suroy suroy on flipflops… May nunal yata sa paa ….hehehe”
Marichu Ramos remarked: “Kaya pala tsinelas = lamierda. Pudpod na yang tsinelas by now. Hay.”
Joy Jimenez wrote: “The magic slippers propaganda which apparently meant a globetrotting activity for the Leni! A permit for her to travel throughout the world frequently!”
