PADRE BURGOS, Quezon – A Risso’s Dolphin was found on the shore of Padre Burgos in the province of Quezon, Philippines. According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the dolphin that soon died while being treated and observed was infected; dehydration and malnutrition are the possible causes of its death.
The dolphin underwent necropsy and the authorities found different trash in the dolphin’s stomach, like sanitary napkins, foam, hook and different plastics.
We need to save Mother Earth for the future generations to experience the comfortable life that we are experiencing right now.
Mother Earth needs us to keep our covenant. We will do this in courts, we will do this on our radio station, and we will commit to our descendants to work hard to protect this land and water for them. Whether you have feet, wings, fins, or roots, we are all in together. – Winona LaDuke
Let’s do our part, even in simple ways; throw our trash properly.
