Professional photographer, James Balog, went on an expedition to Greenland to study a glacier. The project headed by Balog was commissioned by the National Geographic. He was deployed to the area, along with his crew, to collect photographs from cameras that were previously left there over a period of a few years.
Balog is a seasoned photographer who specializes in documenting nature scenes. He is no stranger to nature’s ability to shock. But what he discovered on his expedition to Greenland was nothing like the things he was used to seeing before. He witnessed first-hand the effects of climate change on the glacier that they were sent to examine.
Balog took it upon himself to let other people see what he experienced. A decade after the expedition, Balog completed a documentary that focuses on the things he saw.
