STREET JUSTICE? Motorcycle Thief Dies after Getting Run Over by Victim’s Brother

In Bacolod City, western Visayas in central Philippines, a motorcycle thief has met an untimely death after he was run over by his victim’s brother!

According to reports, on Thursday night, March 9, 26-year-old Bryan Chavez stole a motorcycle parked outside its owner’s residence, finding it easy to do so as the key was left in the ignition.

Immediately after learning of the incident, Jason Sia, the brother of the stolen motorcycle’s owner rushed to catch the thief on his pick-up truck. Sia followed the thief, repeatedly asking him to stop and return the vehicle.

When the thief refused to listen and return the motorcycle, Sia hit the vehicle’s back portion. The force of the impact threw Chavez to the ground where he hit his head. He was killed on the spot.

Photos taken after the incident showed that the pick-up truck was already in front of the motorcycle, leading netizens to believe that Sia had also run over the motorcycle thief – probably accidentally as he was going at top speed to chase the thief down.

Police did not indicate whether charges would be filed against Sia by the family of Chavez; although this wouldn’t likely happen as the dead man had also committed a crime against the Sia family.
