This netizen cries Martial Law abuse while passing through police check point; police says otherwise

Here’s the perfect example why the Martial Law circa 1972 is a different animal from the Martial Law in Mindanao circa 2017.

In Marcos’ Martial Law, civilians are scared to speak against the military for fear of ending up in jail.

In present-day Martial Law in Mindanao, anyone is free to speak against military or police abuses.

Facebook user and millennial Amiel Chong took to Facebook denouncing a police officer for allegedly committing an abuse while the entire Mindanao under Martial Law rule.

Chong also wanted the help of social media in making his story viral perhaps to teach the police woman that the civilians are more powerful now in the age of social media.

Let us read Chong’s post below.

Bat pinalarga?? Napagtripan lang ata ako.)
Police: Sir saan po kayo galing?

Ako: Sa Linamon po Sir.
Police: Halika usap muna kayo doon sir.
Ako ay bumaba at lumapit sa may Police Desk.
Police: Sino yong may violation?
Even we are under Martial Law still the Writ of Habeas Corpus is not yet suspended. (Nanginginig habang sinabe)
Police(babae): TUMAHIMIK KA!

PLEASE HELP SHARE THIS! PASIKATIN NATIN SI ATE POLICE!

Rough translation below.

You have great script in there Chong Amiel or Amielhussein C. Sultan! Perhaps you want to be famous for slandering people. The one in the photo is not type of person who barks at people. Please stop slandering people. Be ashamed Sir. We did not do anything to tarnish your reputation. To tell you frankly, you’re arrogant Sir. Heard you’re a law student? You got angry after getting issued with traffic violation for counter-flowing. FYI, those vehicles ahead of you were volunteers, not to be delayed, yet you followed them, that’s why we put you on hold. If you were really brave and indeed a law student, you would talk to us properly. Sadly, people make comments in your post without getting their facts straight. Talk to us Sir because it’s a pity that the reputation of the person in the photo has been in tatters because of your fabricated story.

Note: We did not post the photos of the people involved for the simple reason that we do not want to add to their woes online. Anyway, you may follow the link provided to see their faces.
