An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Hong Kong expressed her devastation when the Balikbayan box she sent was replaced with newspapers and mails. The OFW was later on identified as Ailyne Gumabon.
Ailyne decided to post her sentiments regarding what happened on her Facebook account. She claims that she lost almost three-quarters of the goods she sent to the Philippines for her family to receive.
The carrier she trusted was SpeedPost. Moreover, they said that it would only take three days to deliver the package.
The box originally contains 6 shirts, 6 pairs of shoes, a bag, a cap, a shorts and 32 pieces of chocolates. These things are also written in the receipt and it states that it should be delivered to her husband Enrico Gumabon.
However, when the husband claimed the items stated above, the officials said that it was not there. When they opened it, he was surprised to see a box that was almost empty.
