Willing-willie suspended for 1 month

The Decision stemmed from a complaint instituted by the MTRCB through its counsel therefore belying initial reports that some “concerned citizens” filed a complaint before the MTRCB. MTRCB suspends Willing Willie for one month in a Decision dated May 2, 2011, issued by the Adjudication Committee, and penned by Board Member Noel R.

 

For sometime now, Willing Willie, hosted by Willie Revillame and co-hosted by Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad had been off the air following criticisms on an episode which featured a boy dancing on the show. 1986, the penalty of SUSPENSION of ONE (1) MONTH is hereby imposed on the program Willing Willie, and crediting the period of its voluntary suspension; The show is placed on Probation, or a per-episode permit basis. Otherwise, they should have been part of the caption. Del Prado, the dispositive portion of which reads:

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing, the Committee hereby finds and resolves that:

  1. For violation of Section 3 (c) of P.D. 1986, the penalty of SUSPENSION of ONE (1) MONTH is hereby imposed on the program Willing Willie, and crediting the period of its voluntary suspension;
  2. The show is placed on Probation, or a per-episode permit basis.

 

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) suspends TV5’s primetime variety show Willing Willie, official documents from the agency reveal. The writer is still awaiting official press statement from TV5 and the respondent, through his counsel.
